Spirit List entries affected: Numbers 32, 101, 107, 176, 182, and 211.īecause of the above glitch, the six affected ghosts can be photographed repeatedly for their full points value. In the remaster, all glitched entries were fixed and are now properly obtainable. However, through the use of Ocarina codes or using a hacked save file with the lens unlocked, it is possible to obtain the Festival lens without completing the ghost list. As the Festival Lens can only be obtained by completing the Spirit List, there is no way to legitimately obtain the item. While the Spirit List contains 233 entries, in reality, there are actually only 227 entries found in the game. To avoid this glitch, the player must be sure to go to the Director's Office on the 1st Floor and enter the three-digit code (276) on the intercom first. On higher difficulties, the number of items available is reduced.Īfter receiving the Encrypted Memo (暗号のようなメモ) in the Third Chapter, going immediately to the Doctor's Lounge on the 2nd Floor will cause the game to freeze. In addition to the Camera Obscura, the character can use a flashlight to explore their surroundings, and one character has access to a special Spirit Flashlight, which uses moonlight to pacify spirits. Types of film range from an unlimited low-quality film that deals little damage to rarer and more powerful film types. Blue gems scattered around the environment can be used to upgrade the Camera Obscura, with some upgrades speeding reload time or enabling shots to deal more damage. Points are used as the in-game currency, which can be used at save points to purchase items such as medicine and other items. The most damaging type of shot is the "Fatal Frame", which is achieved if a shot is taken when the ghost is attacking. These factors are taken together to determine how many points the player is awarded for a shot. Shots taken by the Camera Obscura deal varying amounts of damage based on how close the ghost is, the angle of the shot, and the film used. The two central characters can fight off and defeat spirits using the series' recurring Camera Obscura, a camera that captures spirits. During exploration, the characters are regularly attacked by hostile spirits, who take away the characters' health through touch. Environments are navigated from a third-person perspective using the Wii Nunchuk.
